Tips for Choosing a Cat Litter Tray

If you have a cat, then you have a litter box and if you don't have one already you should have a litter tray.  Cat litter trays work wonders in keeping down the nests around the litter box and help to keep from litter being tracked all over the house.

They are basically plastic trays that go directly under a litter box and serve as a mechanism for catching litter that falls off of cats' feet.

Here's some things to think about when buying a cat litter tray:

1. Size. The right size of plastic cat litter tray for you cat is crucial. If the size of the tray is not large enough, it will not be very effective at capturing litter. You may want to consider purchasing one that will require your cat to take at least one step to get out of it. This will help shake the litter loose.

2. Color. You can get cat litter trays in every conceivable color you might want to pick one in your favorite color or your cats but what most people do is choose one that matches the decor in the room that way the whole litter box area can blend in.

3. Durability. Check the tray's material. Remember that cats do have sharp claws. The litter tray should be able to withstand all the usual things your cat does. If you are going to buy the one made of plastic, make sure it is of high quality, not brittle, and does not easily break.

4. Price. You can usually get cat litter trays pretty cheap and they'll probably cost you between five and ten dollars.

Once you have a cat litter tray you won't ever want to be without one again.
